Sewing

We have been working on making cushions for our school library to make it more comfortable and colourful. Here we are sewing with needles and wool onto hessian. A lot of fun but also a lot of concentration and patience needed. We are only half way through and will update with our finished products later on.

Rippa Rugby

Hearing my name called out, I jumped up, my heart was beating fast like it was going through time. The crowd went wild. Portland School clapped and cheered as hard as they could. I had been given player of the day. Yay! I was really proud of myself. I felt fantastic and held my head high, it was the best sports day ever! Recount written by Rawiri

BUBBLES

This was bubble day, we decided to see who could make the most effective bubble blowing mixture. Armed with detergent, water, and wire we set out to see who could make the most powerful bubble mixture.

SPORTS
We have just been to the Rippa Rugby Tournament in October, not bragging but we managed to win 5 out of 6 of our games and most of all we had a fantastic time. Here are some descriptive writing passages from this experience:

Inquiry Learning -
We devised some questions around our 5 + a Day topic that we would like to find out about , here are some of our findings:

Bananas don't actually grow on trees but on plants.
Eggplants are aubergines.
Peas grow in pods on plants.
